Michael Splint
Biography
The artist’s birth name is Michael Børjesen.
Michael Splint is a Danish trance DJ and producer. He started mixing at the age of sixteen in a local youth club, before organising mobile parties with his friend Jan W. Although he appreciates many genres, it was the electronic scene that truly determined his calling as a DJ.
He later hosted a very popular local radio show, “Sound Of Music”, with other house and trance enthusiasts, Kim "Lazer" Nielsen and LP Støvring. These activities led him to play at a club in his hometown, and then at various house and trance events across Denmark.
His professional career also led him to work for Denmark’s largest record store, Stereo Studio, which allowed him to acquire extensive musical knowledge. He then managed a small record department in a Hi-Fi store before moving to Copenhagen in 1998 to start a business with his friend LP Støvring.
A visit to the British club Gatecrasher was a decisive turning point. Impressed by the experience, the owner of Denmark’s largest discotheque, Diskotek IN, decided to create a similar concept in Denmark. This resulted in the opening of Club Gorgeous in February 2000, of which Michael Splint was one of the four founders.
He has remained a resident DJ since its opening, which earned him gigs in Germany and Sweden alongside names such as Ferry Corsten, Tiësto, Judge Jules, Lange, Mauro Picotto, Johan Gielen and DJ Tandu.
Seeing other club residents, like Michael Parsberg, achieve success in production, Michael Splint wanted to create his own music. He collaborated with the Danish trance duo Tukan/F&W for his first productions. Their first joint work was Genie, signed to Alphabet City.
His first personal production, featuring vocals from his wife Sasja, was signed to Media Records Scandinavia, as well as to labels in the Benelux and Nukleuz in the UK, achieving some success during the summer of 2003.
Subsequently, he released tracks and remixes on labels such as Ministry Of Sound, Nukleuz, Inspired, Platipus and Dark Noize. He launched his own label, Good Stuff Recordings, at the end of 2008.
He is also known under the names Michael Splint, Michael Splint, Michael Splint and uses the alias Eruption (6). His style is associated with trance and hard house.
