Little Mix
Biography
Little Mix is a British girl group formed in 2011 during the eighth series of the UK version of The X Factor.
The group originally consisted of four members: Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall. They became the first group to win the competition. After their victory, they signed with Simon Cowell’s label Syco Music and released a cover of Cannonball as the winners’ single.
The group is known for its strong vocals and signature harmonies, as well as its representation of female empowerment and unity. Jesy Nelson left the group in December 2020, saying that pop-star status had taken a toll on her mental health. Since then, the group has been a trio: Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne.
Little Mix made history in 2021 by becoming the first girl group to win the Brit Award for Best Group. The group is currently on a break to focus on individual projects, but they have promised a return as a trio with new music.
