Biography

Kim Sanders (born Kimberly Sanders) is an American singer and songwriter based in Germany. Born on October 24, 1968, in East Chicago, Indiana, she began her solo career in 1991 with the single Full Time, a pop-rock song written and produced together with Axel Henninger and Rüdiger Meng.

She then moved into eurodance in 1993 under the pseudonym Flame with the Nosie Katzmann-produced track Next Time (I Promise). The year 1994 was particularly productive, bringing three solo singles, including Show Me, which reached No. 8 in Israel and No. 15 in Germany, and Tell Me That You Want Me, which charted at No. 11. She also took part in various projects on the Frankfurt scene, collaborating with acts such as Jam & Spoon, contributing to Loft on the track Hold On, and appearing with the Steven Levis Project on Out Of My Mind.

In parallel, she joined Culture Beat as lead singer and took part in their 1998–1999 album Metamorphosis. She also wrote for numerous eurodance projects such as Affinity 3 and Natascha Wright. In 2001, she returned to solo work with the single (More) Food For Thought and began a fruitful collaboration with Schiller, co-writing and performing songs such as Distance and Dancing with My Loneliness.

In 2003, Kim Sanders released her first solo album, Pretty On Edge, featuring thirteen new songs, and collaborated again with Schiller on the album Leben. After a break starting in 2004 to focus on writing and the business side of music, she continued collaborating, providing backing vocals on a track by Sandra in 2006 and appearing on another Schiller album in 2008. In 2012, she took part in the TV show The Voice of Germany, where, coached by Nena Kerner, she finished as runner-up.
