Biography
Roxen, born Larisa Roxana Giurgiu, was born in Cluj-Napoca on 5 January 2000.
She discovered her passion for music at age seven and took singing and piano lessons during her childhood.
Signed to Global Records, her career took off in August 2019 when she was featured on the track You Don't Love Me by Romanian producer Sickotoy.
The single reached number three on Romania’s Airplay 100 chart and was added to radio playlists in France, the United States, Russia and Spain.
Her first single as a lead artist, Ce-ți cântă dragostea, was released in November 2019 and reached number two on the Romanian charts.
In early February 2020 it was announced that she was one of three artists shortlisted to represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, following a collaboration between public broadcaster TVR and Global Records.
On 11 February she was officially announced as the country’s representative.
Five candidate songs for the National Selection were unveiled on 21 February 2020: Alcohol You, Beautiful Disaster, Cherry Red, Colors and Storm.
The national final was won by Alcohol You.
On 13 May 2020 Roxen released a new single, Spune-mi, accompanied by a music video.
