Tess

Tess

Biography

Tess, whose real name is Anna Tess Mattisson, is a Swedish eurodance artist born on 13 February 1978 in Stockholm and raised in Solna, north of the capital.

Her passion for music and dance led her to leave school at age 15 to perform as a dancer in various nightclubs across Sweden; her musical tastes range from classical music to more energetic house and techno.

Her music career took off in 1998 when she became the voice of the group La Cream: their first single, Château d'amour, was released on Dr. Records / Arcade Music and became a success, while the following single, You, was their first true commercial hit, earning a gold record in Sweden and Norway.

Before that, she had gained experience as a dancer for artists like Dr. Alban and Rob 'n Raz, and sang and danced as a backing vocalist for Basic Element.

Tess says you must love the music you perform to put your whole heart into it; among her favorite artists are Madonna for her longevity and the Swedish Markoolio for his humor.
