Marc Van Damme

Marc Van Damme is the stage name of Sebastian Wernke-Schmiesing. He is mainly known for being part of the project Alex M. vs. Marc Van Damme, a production duo formed with Alex Megane. According to a presentation published in 2008, Axel Jäger (born 1978) is from Greifswald and Sebastian Wernke-Schmiesing (born 1980) is from Bremen.

The two met a few years earlier “more or less by coincidence”, at a time when each was following his own musical path. After realizing they had many things in common, they decided to start a joint project, work together in the studio, and produce remixes as well as original tracks.

In summer 2004, Alex M. vs. Marc Van Damme released their first single, Technodisco, on the German label Mental Madness, described as becoming a major club hit across Europe. Remixes for well-known acts followed, and the duo then announced a second single, Hava Nagila, intended to build on the success of the debut.

The project also stated that both members not only produce music but also DJ, appearing in clubs and at events, particularly in and around Germany.
