
Kristina Safrany
Biography
Kristina (Tina) Safrany, born on 26 June in Jettenbach, Germany, of Hungarian origin, is a singer and songwriter. Her musical career began in 1992 after obtaining her Abitur; she had taken part in school choirs and various talent contests from age 16.
She first worked as a studio backing vocalist on several eurodance projects: as Tina S. she sang on And The Beat Goes On and In The Heat Of The Night; appearing as Christina on I Give You All My Love and Into The Fire; as C. Safrany she collaborated with JAP Davis on Black And White and Walking On Air; credited as Chrissie on I Wanna Know, she also provided backing vocals on X-Tasy. At 25 she became the lead singer of the First Base project under the stage name Viktoria.
Alongside her dance career she formed a duo with her husband, pianist Uwe Köhler, performing covers of classic ballads and gospel songs; she recorded the album Vocal And Piano Dreams and regularly performs at weddings and private events.
She continued releasing music under various pseudonyms: in 2009 the single Free Way as First B; in 2018 she collaborated with rapper Freeze on You Taught Me How To Love; in 2019 she recorded two eurodance tracks, Love Is The Power and I Believe In Love, and performed in Peru at the Recordando los 90s and 90s Lover Fest festivals.
In 2021, together with the former rapper of Twenty 4 Seven and Cappella, MC Fixx It, she joined the new eurodance project Maxxima, produced by Andy Stead. The group released several singles and two albums.
In June 2023 she performed at a two-day eurodance event in Omsk, Russia. On the first day she sang her earlier hits such as Into The Fire, I Wanna Know and X-tasy. On the second day she presented tracks from Maxxima‘s new album. During the event rappers Eurodacer and Dagoth spontaneously joined her on stage to perform notably Love is Paradise and U Got 2 Believe Me in an unrehearsed performance.
Also in 2023, in July, she collaborated with Australian DJ Samus Jay to release the eurodance single Can U Keep A Secret, inspired by the First Base classic. She currently lives in Beilstein-Jettenbach.
