Biography

Amanda Ava Koci, known professionally as Ava Max, is an American singer and songwriter born on February 16, 1994.

She began in the music industry in 2008 under the name Amanda Kay, releasing a self-titled six-track EP co-written and produced by Kevin Rudolf. In 2013 she relaunched her career as AVA and released the single Take Away the Pain. Her 2014 meeting with producer Cirkut marked a turning point, leading to the recording of several tracks.

Under the name Ava Koci, she released Cirkut-produced tracks Spinning Around and Come Home on SoundCloud in 2015. The following year, back as AVA, she uploaded Jet Set and Anyone But You — the latter attracting the attention of several labels and enabling her to sign with Atlantic Records.

She released the single My Way in April 2018, then Not Your Barbie Girl and Sweet But Psycho in August 2018; the latter brought her widespread popularity, reaching number one in many countries.

In March 2019 she released So Am I, including a remix with NCT 127, and in July 2019 the promotional double singles Blood, Sweat & Tears and Freaking Me Out were released.

In August 2019 she was featured on Slow Dance by AJ Mitchell and released her own single Torn. She then signed a co-publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and Artist Publishing Group. She collaborated with Pablo Alborán on Tabú in November 2019, and with DJ Alan Walker on Alone, Pt. II in December 2019.

The singles Kings & Queens (March 2020) and Who's Laughing Now (July 2020) announced her debut album ‘Heaven & Hell’, which includes her major hits.
