Lazard
Biography
The Lazard project made an impression many years ago with the release of a picture vinyl featuring a striking design depicting a green station clock. This physical record included the track 4 o'clock (in the morning), the project’s first single.
4 o'clock (in the morning) is a cover of the classic by Beverley Craven, Promise Me. This version reached number one on the Dance Charts and remained in the German Single Charts for more than two weeks. It received TV airplay on channels such as VIVA, Onyx, NBC Giga and RTL 2. The picture vinyl sold over 5,000 copies worldwide.
Originally, Lazard was a more commercial trance project led by David Rzenno and Dirk Nothroff (also known as Überdruck). In 2003 they left the Pulsive Media label and the project’s artistic direction was taken over by the label owners, Frank Cornelis and Silvio von Lichtenstein.
Subsequent remixes were made in collaboration with artists such as Marc Van Linden and D-Gor. New Lazard singles were later produced by various people, and over time the project involved other members such as Stephan Bentrup and Marleen Horn.
