Annikafiore
Biography
ANNIKAFIORE was born in a recording studio in Stockholm in 1998, the same day the group Alcazar recorded the song Crying at the Discotheque. It was then that Alexander Bard began calling her “Annikafiore” (she was then Johansson); fond of flowers, she adopted the name as befitting a disco diva.
As a member of Alcazar for seven years she enjoyed international success, touring the world with hits like Sexual Guarantee, This Is the World We Live In and Not a Sinner Nor a Saint.
A video shoot for “We Didn't Start the Fire” on July 4, 2005 marked a turning point when a fall in a fire station broke her ankle and affected her morale.
She later settled in the suburbs and launched a club project called AVE (Avatar versus Eve) with producer DJ Mitch; they released two singles, “Party People” and “I've Still Got the Highest Heels in the Room”, and prepared an album that was never released.
Determined to create under her own name, ANNIKAFIORE began writing her first solo album, themed “CONFESSIONS OF AN INCURABLE REDHEAD”, collaborating with drummer and producer Antti Vuorenniemi. The first single from the project, “Forbidden Love”, was chosen as the official anthem of Pride Copenhagen 2010.
