Fun Factory
Biography
Fun Factory is a German eurodance group, often described as a true dance-and-good-mood machine. Their sound, an explosive blend of pop, dance, rap, techno and reggae, earned them international recognition with charting singles worldwide.
The original lineup (1992-1997) consisted of Toni Cottura (Smooth T), Rodney Hardison (Rod D.), Stephan Browarczyk (Steve), singer Balca "Balja" Tözün and Marie-Anett Mey. They broke through in 1994 with Close To You, followed by club hits such as Take Your Chance, Pain (remixed by ATB), I Wanna B With U (also remixed by ATB) and Celebration, which charted in Germany as well as Canada, the UK, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Poland, France, Italy, the United States and the Far East.
A new lineup (1997-2003) followed, featuring Alfonso "Al" Walser, Tiger One and singer Annett Möller. After a few minor successes mainly in Europe and Asia, the group ceased activities in 2003.
The project was revived in 2008 with a completely new team and again in 2014 when three original members returned: Toni Cottura, Stephan Browarczyk and Balca Tözün, joined by Anthony "Ski" Freeman. This lineup released the album “Back to the Factory” in 2015, featuring new tracks like Turn It Up and Let's Get Crunk.
Musically the group was produced by Team 33, and the central creative elements at its inception were Bülent Aris, R. Kesselbauer, Toni Cottura and Rodney Hardison.
