Red 5
Biography
Red 5 was a German dance project created by DJ and producer Thomas Kukula. Active between 1996 and 2000, the group enjoyed club success with several major hits, notably Da Beat Goes…, I Love You … Stop and Lift Me Up.
The collective included, besides its founder, rapper Lemar (Anthony Woods), singer Nadja (Nadja Ayari) and dancer Vanessa (Vanessa Garcia Sempere). The project name very likely references Star Wars: A New Hope, in which Luke Skywalker pilots an X-Wing with the callsign “Red 5”.
