Tony T

Tony T was born in London and raised in Brooklyn, New York. At age 16 he moved to Germany, where he began his career as a DJ and MC; in the early 1990s he turned to rap and wrote songs for numerous projects.

His touring career began in 1994, with more than a hundred shows per year. He gained prominence the same year as a member of the project Beat System; their track Fresh was an international hit, reaching number 1 in Croatia, number 9 in France and remaining 18 weeks in the top 40 in Germany.

A complete performer, Tony T is recognized as one of the best live DJs and MCs, able to mix, sing, rap and entertain audiences with multiple voices and styles.

Based in Germany, in 2007 he began a pivotal collaboration with the project R.I.O.. Their single Shine On became a global success, topping dance charts worldwide.

In March 2012, after five years of touring across more than 50 countries, Tony T announced he was leaving R.I.O. to pursue a solo career, confirming his status as a highly respected and sought-after singer and songwriter.

From 2012 he worked as a solo artist, collaborating with various producers and writing for international labels. A major turning point came in 2025, when he successfully reclaimed the name R.I.O. and rebranded the entire project in his favor, paving the way for new collaborations and events worldwide.
