Evelyn
Biography
Evelyn, whose real name is Eva Lindgren, is a Swedish singer from Stockholm. She began her music career at 24 after working as a model in Barcelona and being crowned ‘Miss Täby’ in Sweden. Her background includes school choir and several solo live performances in the United States, where she lived for a year.
Her first single, Funny Bunny Boy, was released in autumn 1998; it was produced by Johnny Jam and Delgado, the duo behind the mega-hit Barbie Girl. Although the single did not reach the expected chart peaks, it was frequently played in clubs.
She later performed ‘Blue Sky Black’, which was not released as a single but appeared on the soundtrack of the Swedish film Fucking Åmål. Her second official single, Play With Me, caused controversy — the song referenced a dildo — notably in Norway, where a copy of the toy was given to early buyers of the CD single.
