Youssri

Youssri Mejdoubi is a Belgian musician in his thirties. Affected by Leber’s disease, he became blind in 2016; after an adjustment period he eventually accepted it, particularly regretting no longer being able to see the sun. Outside of music, he works at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA) and also lends his voice to advertisements.

Music is central to his life. Since 2006 he has formed the band Koda with his classmate Jonach; they finished third on the show “La Belgique a un incroyable talent”, which earned them many concerts. The Koda project slowed after the pandemic and concluded with a final concert before a thousand people. Youssri especially enjoys singing, is progressing on the piano, and has started new musical projects with another artist; for him, music is often an excellent way to break the ice when meeting new people.
