Yasmin Jane

The artist known as Yasmin Jane has the legal name Yasmin Jane Lacey Eresh.

With a background in sociology, she entered music via an unconventional route. In 2017, she impressed the Tileyard Music team with her application, who highlighted her unique and accomplished understanding of Pop and Dance. Since starting Tileyard Education, her career has continued to build momentum through collaborations and the growth of her industry network.

She also speaks about being included on Ninja Tune’s “Girls Do It Better” playlist, described as a collection of female artists set for release soon. She says she is excited to have her first cut selected and to be given the opportunity, adding that she believes in female empowerment and was keen to write a song about girl power. She notes that she met Electric Pineapple through Tileyard Education, and credits the program with helping her network, develop her songwriting skills, and gain guidance and confidence from the tutors to push her career forward. She also looks ahead to an upcoming solo project.

She recently returned from a Tileyard Education–organised songwriting trip to Stockholm, where she wrote with Scandinavian writers and producers at AP Academy.
