Unique II

Unique II is an electronic music project founded by producers Erwin Geppner and Werner Freistätter. Both come from a technical background in electrical engineering and electronics, and developed their musical approach from an interest in technology.

Geppner was influenced by groups such as Kraftwerk and The Art of Noise, seeing the keyboard and computer as a way to expand the sound spectrum. Freistätter discovered electronic sequencers, directing his guitar practice towards this new universe.

The project has involved various performers and vocal collaborators over the years, including Sheila Fernandez, B-Nice, Def-Tone, Heidi Pfau, Christian Troy, Sandy Cooper and Phoebe Caren.

Their production mainly falls within the genres of eurodance, dance, pop and euro-house. Their most notable single is a cover of Break My Stride.

The project is also known under several spelling variations, such as Unique, Unique 2, Unique 11, or 超凡二人組.
