The Bucketheads

The Bucketheads

Biography

The Bucketheads is a solo funky house project led by the American producer and DJ Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez (born Carl Kenneth Gonzalez).

The project became legendary thanks to the hugely popular house anthem The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall into My Mind), released in 1995; its impact on dancefloors was and remains extraordinary.

The production is built largely from samples, notably the track Street Player by the group Chicago (2). The vocal heard on the record is a sample of Reverend C.L. Franklin, taken from Preacherman by Green Velvet.

The song’s subtitle, These Sounds Fall Into My Mind, is directly inspired by the original lyrics of Street Player, which include the line “Street sounds swirling through my mind”.

Throughout his career, Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez has used numerous aliases and side projects, including: Power House, The Swing Kids, The Untouchables, Ken Dog, Total Ka-Os, Kenny's House, Liquid Dope, House Syndicate, DBX (2), House Brigade, The Dope Wax All Stars, The Wreck Allstars, The Slammin One, Axxis, Soul Fuzion, 2 Dope, Dope Stuff, Total Madness, The Mad Racket.

The Bucketheads project itself is sometimes referenced under name variations such as: Bucket Heads, Buckets, The Bobbleheads, The Bucket Heads, The Bucketheads 2, The Bucketheadz, or The Busketheads.
