Sonia Madoc

Sonia Madoc, born Sonia Basseda Cárdenas, is a Spanish artist born on 23 October 1974 in Barcelona. A singer, she works within electronic music, pop and dance, using her voice as her instrument.

She began her music career in the mid-1990s on the “Ruta del Bacalao” circuit under the stage name Sonoro. In 2000 she formed the duo Sonia y Selena with Selena Leo. The project gained international recognition in 2001 with the song Yo quiero bailar, presented as part of a bid to represent Spain at Eurovision, and reported to have sold over 1,500,000 copies. That same year, the duo released its only album, also titled Yo quiero bailar.

After the group split, Sonia Madoc continued as a solo act, releasing pop and dance singles such as Dame Vida (2007) and Bienvenido a la fiesta (2012), as well as collaborations like Bésame (2018). In 2023, she released the advertising jingle Ya puedo dormir.

In early 2025, Sonia y Selena officially reunited to take part in Benidorm Fest 2025, presenting a musical project titled Reinas and launching a new artistic phase. After the festival, they released new versions of their hits and an unreleased track, Calor. In November 2025, Sonia Madoc resumed her solo output with the single Diva Neón.

Alongside music, she has worked extensively with local media in Catalonia, appearing regularly on television and radio programs. She studied protocol and public relations and founded a fashion brand linked to her artistic image.

Her participation in the fourth edition of Gran Hermano Dúo was confirmed, marking her first time in a cohabitation reality show. It was also announced that on 15 January 2026 at midnight, her new single Fuego Encendido would be released on major digital platforms while she remains inside the GH Dúo house.
