Biography
Shawn Christopher, born Shawn Christopher, is an African-American dance music singer from Chicago, Illinois. She began her career as a touring backup singer for Chaka Khan from 1982 to 1985. Among her best-known tracks are the dance hits Another Sleepless Night (1991), Don't Lose the Magic (1992) and Sweet Freedom (1998). She also contributed to the number one house hit French Kiss by Lil' Louis and provided backing vocals for Heartbeat by Jimmy Somerville.
She is a member of the bands My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and Sonia Dada. Under the pseudonym Jasmine Night, she collaborated with My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and joined the project The Bomb Gang Girlz. She is the sister of R&B artist Gavin Christopher, a singer, keyboardist, and producer.
