Biography
Sanna Viktoria Nielsen, born 27 November 1984 in Bromölla, is a Swedish singer.
Her career began very early: at eleven she reached number one on the Svensktoppen charts with the song Till en fågel. She released her debut album “Silvertoner” in September 1996, followed by “Min önskejul” in 1997 and the single “Time to Say Goodbye” in 1999.
She is best known for her multiple participations in Melodifestivalen, Sweden’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest: she competed seven times between 2001 and 2014, reaching the final on each occasion.
Her first participation was in 2001 with “Igår, idag” (3rd). She returned in 2003 with “Hela världen för mig” (5th), in 2005 as a duet with Fredrik Kempe on “Du och jag mot världen” (8th). In 2007 she presented “Vågar du, vågar jag” (7th) and in 2008 “Empty Room”, written and composed by Bobby Ljunggren and Aleena, which finished 2nd.
She participated again in 2011 with “I’m in Love”, winning her semi-final before finishing 4th in the final. She ultimately won in 2014 with “Undo”, which allowed her to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, where she achieved a very respectable 3rd place, behind the representatives of Austria and the Netherlands.
