Rozlyne Clarke
Biography
Rozlyne Clarke, born Roslyn Howell, is an Australian singer born on 9 July 1966 in Sydney.
Her musical career truly began in France in 1990: while performing in the musical “Cats” in Paris, a friend auditioning for the French producer Nicolas Skorsky introduced her to him; success was immediate.
Her first single, Eddy Steady Go, recorded in a single day, became one of the biggest hits of 1991, reaching number 8 on sales charts and number 1 in clubs. It was followed by Gorgeous and Dancin' Is Like Makin Love, which also charted in France.
Her debut album, titled Gorgeous, was produced in France by Nicolas Skorsky and Eddy Beatboxking. A fourth single from the album, The Wizard Of Roz, released in 1992, was one of her favorite songs because she co-wrote it and dedicated it to her father; this track, which did not achieve commercial success, became a rarity.
In 1994 her singles were remixed by the DJ duo Unity Power and Eddy Steady Go '93 again reached number 1 in French club charts. She then released several notable eurodance singles.
Her second album, produced in Belgium, unfortunately did not achieve much success. Her voice was also used by Let-Motiv on the single Ecoute Bien Ces Mots.
In 1997 she recorded a duet with Stevie H, titled I'm On Fire / What a Fiery Temperament, which was her last commercially released single.
