Born and raised in Sydney’s western suburbs, PENELOPE was the kid who never stopped singing, dancing, and swiping her parents’ CD collection. Her obsession with music and singing began at age five, when she accidentally discovered Barbra Streisand’s concert *One Voice* that her mum was watching—instant love at first sight.

Before fully committing to music, she spent six years trying everything: swimming, diving, trampoline, basketball, netball, and even a season on her twin brother’s soccer team. But nothing could match the feeling of singing and performing on stage—a space she hasn’t left since.

On a personal level, she long felt a bit different without quite knowing why, describing herself as bi-curious without being able to explore that curiosity. Everything changed after her last relationship ended in 2019. A defining experience one night after a show sealed it: she officially came out as bisexual and has proudly flown that flag ever since.

The strength and resilience of the bi community and the queer community deeply inspire her writing process—and her as a person too: a cheeky, clumsy, fun-loving girl who wants everyone to feel loved.
