Pascal Letoublon

Biography

Even before releasing an album, the young French producer Pascal Letoublon, based near Besançon, made history by rising almost overnight to the top of Asian charts thanks to the viral TikTok phenomenon, being booked in clubs across China and attracting the attention of European labels.

This meteoric success stems from a 2017 release on the small independent label Suprafive Records: Friendships. The house single, with a catchy, universal melody, was born instinctively over a few afternoons from a few guitar-picked notes; the producer, then 24, could not have imagined such a fate for a track under four minutes.

The track reached 75 million views on YouTube, nearly 40 million streams and spent almost two years in Shazam’s global charts, becoming one of the most Shazamed songs in China. Encouraged by friends to publish the melody, Pascal Letoublon’s career was transformed.

After playing in a metal band as a teenager and influenced by Pascal Junior and Lika Morgan, he made spontaneity and simplicity his credo to avoid overcomplicated compositions. After the success of Friendships, a vocal version, Friendships (Lost My Love), was recorded with German singer Leony and licensed by Virgin Germany.

For this 2.0 version he worked with renowned topliners such as Swedish artist Nea, creator of Some Say, and Kiddo, who appears on recent works by Robin Schulz. Signed to Universal in summer 2019, he now takes time to refine his style and develop his musical universe while regularly releasing new singles.
