Biography

Mona, whose real name is Ramona Rebrean, is a Romanian singer and artist born on 8 July 1986 in Pucioasa, Dâmbovița County.

Her musical career began in 2006 as a member of the group Wassabi, formed under the direction of Marius Moga; that year the group released Radio 21’s anthem, Have some fun with Radio 21. In 2007 the female members of the group, including Mona, released several tracks hoping to represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest, but despite support in the votes they did not succeed.

After Wassabi split, Mona embarked on a solo career and in summer 2011 released the song Sweet love in collaboration with musician Liviu Hodor.

Also a painter, she won first place in the national and international “L’Europe à l’école” competition in Strasbourg at age 17. She also holds a degree in fashion design from the School of Art and Style in Bucharest.
