Members of Mayday

Members of Mayday

Biography

Members of Mayday is a German techno project formed by producers Klaus Jankuhn and Westbam (Maximilian Lenz). It was created with the exclusive purpose of producing the official anthems for the annual Mayday rave, which was at the time the largest indoor rave in Germany. The project was officially founded in 1993, although the first anthems, such as The Mayday Anthem (1992), were initially released under the name Westbam before being later attributed to Members of Mayday. From 1991 to 2013, the duo composed an annual anthem, with titles often reflecting the event’s theme, such as Forward Ever Backward Never (1992), The Judgement Day (1993), Religion (1993), or Never Stop (2013). The project was discontinued after Westbam’s departure from Mayday in early 2014 but was revived by him in 2024. Since then, Westbam has been performing live under the name “Members Of Members.” The project is also known by the aliases M.O.M., MoM, or The Mighty Mighty Members Of Mayday.
