Max-A-Million

Max-A-Million

Biography

Max-A-Million was a dance music project formed in Chicago, overseen by producers Charlie "Baby" Rosario and Manfred Mohr, the duo behind 20 Fingers.

The group consisted of members Willie May Baker, Duran Estevez, and Tommye Miller. It was introduced to the public with the house single Fat Boy in the summer of 1995.

The project found success with its sole album, Take Your Time, whose title track is a dance cover of the 1980 hit by the S.O.S. Band. This version became a worldwide dancefloor success.

Max-A-Million later released a cover of the Marvin Gaye classic, Sexual Healing, as well as the single Everybody's Groovin'. These tracks also met with some success.

As producers Mohr and Rosario focused on other artists in their 20 Fingers stable, the Max-A-Million project was sidelined and was eventually dissolved in 1998.

The name ‘Max-A-Million’ is still held by Duran Estevez, who chose to use it as his alias. He is now managed by Chappell Entertainment.
