Matt Pridgyn

Matt Pridgyn Canadian producer, songwriter and DJ of South African origin. His love of music and melody began in childhood: he started classical piano at age 8, learned guitar as a teenager, and has always enjoyed playing with others. The 2020 pandemic gave him the opportunity to dive into music production; he started posting remixes on YouTube and surpassed 100,000 views on his channel. At university he met many friends involved in music and developed a passion for songwriting and DJing. He honed his production skills drawing inspiration from melody-driven artists like Avicii, Martin Garrix, Axero and Kygo. In 2024 his growth was exponential: he plays small festivals and clubs across Canada, receives support from more established artists for his remixes, and exploded in popularity on TikTok thanks to his remixes and original nostalgic-EDM compositions. Constantly inspired by the nostalgic period often called the “golden era” of EDM (2010–2015), his dream is to bring back the progressive, melodic sounds he grew up with.
