Mandy Ventrice
Biography
Mandy Ventrice is an American pop singer and singer-songwriter. Born in a small suburb of San Francisco, California, she showed musical talent early on, inspired by her father, an accomplished musician and composer.
At seven, she wrote her first original song and spent her middle-school years recording on a small four-track recorder in her bedroom. On her thirteenth birthday, she took her first steps into a professional studio, then created a website to sell her CD, which quickly generated positive buzz around her music.
At fourteen, she joined the Boston-based pop girl group Poetry in Motion and underwent two years of intensive training before the group broke up. The experience led her to focus on a solo career.
She then began writing with New York producer Aaron Accetta. The two formed an immediate creative chemistry, building an impressive catalog of collaborations. At eighteen, she moved to New York to pursue her music career more actively.
She worked with many producers, including Shep and Kenny, Slam & Jack Knight, Joshua Thompson, Brad Young & Dow Brain, Sam Hollander, and Aaron Accetta. In 2003, several of her songs were recorded by Brooke Hogan for her debut album, though it was never released; the tracks were nevertheless featured on VH1’s reality series “Hogan Knows Best.”
In 2006, she formed the band Film The Future, describing its sound as “garage band rock with a touch of pop.” At the same time, she continued her solo career with personal tracks such as Oh California, a tribute to her home state.
