Lokka

Lokka Vox is the stage name of South African singer, songwriter, producer, vocal producer and DJ Anki Delport, born in 1987 in Pretoria, South Africa.

After matriculating from Pro Arte Alphen Park School of Arts in 2006, she joined the all-girls stage production Girl Talk 007 at Richard Lauring Sound Stage, performing as lead pianist, solo/backing vocalist and dancer. She continued appearing in theatre productions through 2009.

From 2009 to 2015, Anki Delport worked as the resident singer, dancer and DJ at Coco Bongo at Monte Casino (Johannesburg), while freelancing at corporate events and live venues nationwide. Her stage experience also includes performances at South African landmarks such as the State Theatre Pretoria, Gold Reef City Casino and Sun City.

In 2011 she transitioned into recording under the alias Lokka Vox. Uploading music to SoundCloud drew attention to her work as a composer and vocalist, leading to collaborations with producers worldwide. Her vocals have appeared on Beatport Top 10 releases and been featured on outlets and radio shows including ASOT, FSO, NCS, Perfecto and BBC1.

A prolific vocal artist and songwriter, Lokka Vox has more than 270 tracks released across major platforms (including Spotify, Beatport and Bandcamp) and has released music on more than 58 labels, including Black Hole Recordings, Armada sub-labels, Nu Venture Records and In Trance We Trust. She also released her debut solo drum & bass single PLAY ME on Balkan Electro (Warner Music), highlighting her skills as a solo producer.

She has contributed vocals and songwriting to tracks alongside electronic artists such as Anima, Marlo, Borgeous, Ashley Wallbridge, Blood Groove & Kikis, Judge Jules, Hazem Beltagui, Fabio Xb, Antillas and Artisan.

Beyond releases, she has created production tools: in 2013 she released a hit vocal sample pack with Function Loops followed by two sequels, and in 2022 issued a pack featuring over 150 royalty-free vocal stems that saw widespread industry use.

Between 2014 and 2023, Lokka Vox performed live and DJ sets across South Africa (Johannesburg, Cape Town, Knysna, Plett), the USA (Miami Music Week, Orlando Carnival, Essence Festival), Europe (Malta, Italy) and Asia (Thai island festivals).

She states that she writes, composes, records, produces, edits and mixes her own beats, keeping her focus on studio work. She lives in South Africa, splitting her time between production, global collaborations, sample-pack development and selected live performances.
