Biography

Lene Marlin, whose real name is Lene Marlin Pedersen, is a Norwegian acoustic singer and songwriter, born on 17 August 1980 in Tromsø.

She made her debut in Norway in 1998 with the single Unforgivable Sinner, released on 12 October 1998. The track became a huge success, reaching number one on the charts and staying there for eight weeks. It was the fastest-selling single in Norwegian music history and appears in the Norwegian film *Schpaaa*.

At the Spellemannprisen (Norway’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards) in 1999, Lene Marlin won four awards: Best Pop Solo Artist, Best Single for Sitting Down Here, Best New Artist, and Artist of the Year. She also received the MTV Europe Award for Best Nordic Artist on 11 November 1999 in Dublin, Ireland.

Her second album, *Another Day*, was released on 22 September 2003. Her third record, *Lost in a Moment*, followed on 13 June 2005, preceded by the single How Would It Be, released in stores in Europe on 24 May 2005.

Her fourth album, *Twist the Truth*, came out on 30 March 2009 and was certified gold in Norway.
