Biography
Leana, full name Leana Greene, is a former dance singer who released five singles and two albums between 2005 and 2008.
Her debut single, Dance With a Stranger, was created in collaboration with influential American DJs and remixers like Pete Lorimer, Chris Cox, Mike Rizzo, and Eric Kupper. The track debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Break Outs chart, reaching number nine on the Billboard Dance Chart and number five on DJ Times. It was also nominated for Best HiNRG/Euro Track at the International Dance Music Awards (IDMA).
Her second single, Faith, from the upcoming album Faith in Myself, was remixed by Swedish producer StoneBridge. To promote it, Leana performed at clubs like The Roxy and the Key Club on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. In August 2005, she returned to her native Sweden to perform at Stockholm Pride, where she was voted Artist of the Year 2005.
The press described her music as an ethereal and inspiring dance-pop vibe, drawing comparisons to Enya and Dido meeting Madonna. Her album Faith In Myself was praised as a subtle, calm, and pleasant interpretation of the dance/pop genre, blending influences from ABBA and Dido.
After her music career, Leana wrote a book on children’s etiquette and works on several projects related to education and parenting.
The musical project Leana is actually the duo consisting of Manuel Benito and Vincent Bureau. These producers are also known under the aliases Roses' Tribe, Kaikoo, B/B, Flying Pigs, and Oxlip.
