Kelly Clarkson, full name Kelly Brianne Clarkson, is an American singer, songwriter, and television personality.

She rose to fame rapidly after winning the first season of the music reality television show “American Idol” in 2002, receiving 58 percent of the public vote.

Her recording career began shortly after with the single A Moment Like This, which achieved certified platinum sales. Her debut album, “Thankful”, released in spring 2003, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

The follow-up album, “Breakaway”, was a worldwide success with tracks like Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, and Because of You, and is considered one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century.

She later explored rockier sounds with “My December” before returning to more mainstream pop rock with “All I Ever Wanted” and “Stronger”. The single Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) reached number one on the charts.

Kelly Clarkson has also distinguished herself in the field of Christmas music. Her album “Wrapped in Red” became the best-selling Christmas album of the year of its release, and the song Underneath the Tree was recognized by ASCAP as the most popular Christmas song of the 21st century.

Her television career is also notable. She was a coach for nine seasons on the show “The Voice”, becoming the female coach who led the most contestants to victory. Since 2019, she has hosted her own talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show”.

Throughout her career, she has sold over 82 million records worldwide and has won numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards, four American Music Awards, and eight Daytime Emmy Awards. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
