Karol G

Carolina Giraldo Navarro, known professionally as Karol G, is a Colombian singer born on February 14, 1991, in Medellín.

She began her career as a teenager by appearing at age 14 in 2004 on the Colombian version of The X Factor. To deepen her knowledge of the music industry, she moved to New York in 2014 and later signed with Universal Music Latino.

Primarily associated with reggaeton and Latin trap, she has also explored reggae and sertaneja. Her breakthrough came with the collaboration Ahora Me Llama with Puerto Rican Bad Bunny, which became the lead single from her debut album Unstoppable (2017).

In 2018 she won the Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Late in 2018, her song Secreto with Puerto Rican Anuel AA became a hit in Latin America, and their relationship was publicly revealed in the video.

In 2019 she released the album Ocean, marking a stylistic shift toward a more relaxed atmosphere; that year the track China, credited to Anuel AA, J Balvin, Daddy Yankee and Ozuna, became her first video to surpass one billion views on YouTube.

Her song Tusa with Nicki Minaj achieved international success, spending 25 weeks on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and being certified 28× Latin Platinum by the RIAA. In 2020 she received four Latin Grammy nominations.

Karol G reached her highest Billboard Hot 100 placement with the top‑20 single Mamiii, a collaboration with Becky G. She has also been nominated multiple times for the Billboard Latin Music Awards and the Premios Lo Nuestro.
