Biography
Kamelia (real name Adina Camelia Hora, also known as Camelia Hora) is a Romanian singer, composer and lyricist, born on 5 September 1986 in Ștei (Bihor County). Raised in Timișoara, she started singing at the age of 14.
Early on, she was part of a band called D.G.TAL, formed with her brother George Hora, a composer and producer. The two also own a music studio, Studio 66.
Between 2006 and 2007 she took part in the Megastar contest, and later joined one of the tours of Romanian band Simplu. She became widely known in Romania after a collaboration with rapper Puya and George Hora.
In 2009, Change reached No. 19 among the most rotated songs in Romania, and in 2010 it reached No. 48. In 2010, V.I.P., a collaboration with Puya, reached No. 21. With Piesa mea preferată (feat. Vescan), she also appeared among the most rotated songs: No. 77 in 2013 and No. 30 in 2014.
In 2014, she ranked No. 12 in a Romanian “top 100 sexiest women of the year” list, and in August 2014 she was nominated for the Fans Like Award at the Media Music Awards.
Between 2010 and 2017, she released several successful songs, including Change, V.I.P., Come again, Prima oara, Vara rece, Piesa mea preferata and Amor.
