Biography
Julian Remo Perretta, born on January 13, 1989 in London, is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. Of Italian descent on his father’s side and Irish on his mother’s, he left school at 16 after receiving a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he studied Shakespeare before dropping out after a year to pursue music.
He rose to fame with the single Wonder Why from his debut album *Stitch Me Up* (2011). His career began after meeting members of Jamiroquai and producer Mark Ronson, with whom he toured in 2008. In 2009, Beyoncé invited him as a special guest on her British *I Am* tour.
Signed by Universal Music Group in 2010 and managed by Simon Fuller (creator of *American Idol*) and Serge Khalifa, his album *Stitch Me Up* was released in France on September 27, 2010, then in the UK and US in summer 2011, reaching No. 2 on the iTunes chart. The single Wonder Why dominated radio airplay charts in France, Switzerland, and Belgium and reached No. 1 on iTunes. The second single, *Stitch Me Up*, was released in January 2011.
Julian Perretta has resided in Los Angeles, California.
