Jason Ross
Biography
Jason Ross has become a prominent figure in the electronic scene while remaining intentionally elusive thanks to his wide artistic versatility. He began as a cornerstone of the legendary label Anjunabeats, rising as a new-generation trance talent under Above & Beyond. He soon moved beyond traditional “four to the floor” rhythms to explore broader territories, blending broken beats and pop vocals within melodic bass.
A fruitful collaboration with melodic bass pioneer Seven Lions produced standout tracks like Higher Love and Ocean. This period is complemented by an elegant, airy trance discography that includes pieces such as Cairo, Atlas, and the EP Rooms, released on Anjunabeats in 2019.
His strength lies in weaving the emotion and hypnotic qualities of trance with the more accessible power of melodic bass, creating a signature sound. This multi-genre approach shines on flagship productions like Shelter, his collaboration with Blanke One More Day, his solo Wild Ones, and his track with Gryffin, After You.
The side project Atlas perfectly embodies Jason Ross’s artistic identity: outward-looking and inclusive. Rejecting the idea of being confined to one sound or set of expectations, Atlas aims to fuse genres and fan communities, spanning merchandise and online fan groups to his first full artistic album, 1000 Faces, scheduled for August 2022 on Ophelia Records, the label of Seven Lions.
