Hoobastank
Biography
Hoobastank is an alternative rock band formed in 1994 in Agoura Hills, California.
The founding members include vocalist Doug Robb, guitarist Dan Estrin, drummer Chris Hesse, and original bassist Markku Lappalainen. Other musicians have been part of the band, including Jeremy Wasser, David Amezcua, Joshua Moreau, and Jesse Charland.
The band initially started as a Talking Heads cover group. Hoobastank was signed to Island Records from 2001 to 2012.
The band has released several studio albums, including “Hoobastank” (2001), “The Reason” (2003), “Every Man for Himself” (2006), “Fornever” (2009), “Fight or Flight” (2012), and “Push Pull” (2018). Their first album, “They Sure Don’t Make Basketball Shorts Like They Used To”, was released in 1998.
The band is sometimes stylized as h∞bastank and was originally known as Hoobustank. Among the name variations are Hooberstank, フーバスタンク, and 好把戲合唱團.
