Biography
Holly Dolly is an animated pop music project created by artist Simone Gritti, centered on an anthropomorphic donkey who dreams of becoming a star. Her debut single, Dolly Song (Ievan Polkka), is a sped-up rearrangement of a traditional Finnish song, popularized in 2006 by the “Leekspin” animation. That same year, the album *Pretty Donkey Girl* was released, featuring covers such as La Isla Bonita and Don't Worry Be Happy, as well as original tracks like My Name is Dolly, Ciao Ciao Goodbye, Holly Sumba, and Limbo Rock. In August 2006, the German ringtone provider Jamba! marketed a media collection based on the animation.
