Biography
Harri, real name James Harrigan, is a DJ and producer based in Glasgow, Scotland. An iconic figure in the Glasgow house scene, he held a residency for over 20 years at the Sub Club, helping to establish it as one of the UK’s major venues.
In the early 90s, he collaborated with Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle of Slam and Soma at the Sub Club. He then formed the duo Subculture (11) with DJ Domenic Cappello, making the Saturday night at Sub Club one of the country’s longest-running weekly house nights.
Harri also has a career as a producer under several aliases, including Daddy's Favourite and H-Foundation (2). Under the name Daddy’s Favourite, his track “I Feel Good Things For You” achieved success, appearing on compilations and the TV series “Queer as Folk”. A H Foundation production, “Liaka”, charted in John Peel’s Festive 50.
He founded his own label, Tax Discs, and achieved success in DJ Magazine charts. He also had a five-year London residency with Kenny Hawkes at Plastic People.
Harri is the father of DJ Jasper James (3). He has been recognized by publications such as DJ Magazine, which ranked him among the world’s top 100 DJs, and The Face, for his unique contribution to the British house scene.
More recently, he collaborated with The Revenge (Five20East) and prepared a mix CD for Subculture on Soma. With Domenic Cappello, he delivered a two-hour “Essential Mix” for Pete Tong in 2007.
He is also known under the name variants DJ Harri, DJ Harry and Harry.
