Garfield
Biography
Garfield is a German eurodance music project created by the Metronome label and inspired by the comic-strip character created by Jim Davis.
The project is based on a collaboration between British singer Rachel Wallace and the Koppehele family. Rachel Wallace, from London, had already found solo success with tracks such as I Feel This Way in 1991 and especially Tell Me Why in 1994, which reached number one on the UK dance charts.
Production and arrangements for Garfield were handled by Giorgio (or Georg) Koppehele, Martin Koppehele, Suna Koppehele and Gabi Koppehele.
The project released the singles Cool Cat and Party Of Love, both taken from the album Keep Cool Cat.
Note that the name Garfield was also used by a Canadian band in the 1970s and 1980s, active in a different style and which released four albums.
