Galleon
Biography
Galleon is a French electronic music group from Marseille, founded in 2000 by producers Michel Fages and Philippe Laurent, who later recruited singer Gilles Fahy, later known as Gilles Luka. The collective is associated with the «French touch» scene and is known for its disco-house sound.
The group emerged on the European dance scene in 2001 with the hit single So, I Begin, released by Sony Music/Radikal Records, which achieved significant commercial success. They went on to release other singles: I Believe in November 2001, and One Sign and The Way in 2002. A self-titled album, «Galleon», was released in late 2002.
The band’s activity ceased in 2003, with a brief reunion between 2013 and 2014. A new version of their flagship track So, I Begin, in collaboration with artist Sagan, was released in 2024.
