French Affair
Biography
French Affair is a Franco-German pop group formed in 2000. The collective consists of singer Barbara Alcindor and producers Karsten Dreyer and Thorsten Dreyer, the latter often referred to as the Dreyer Brothers.
Their music blends French pop influences with modern dance sounds. Their commercial breakthrough came in 2000 after signing with BMG and collaborating with the Dreyer Brothers’ production team.
That year, they achieved international success with the singles My Heart Goes Boom (La Di Da Da) and Do What You Like, which charted in France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany. Other tracks such as Sexy, I Want Your Love, and Comme Ci Comme Ça also became hits.
Their debut album, Desire, was released in 2001. The group gained international exposure, with their songs released in more than 58 countries and over 2.5 million CDs sold.
Lead singer Barbara Alcindor was born in Paris. Before her music career, she worked as a model. She currently lives in London, England.
