Eve Gallagher
Biography
Eve Gallagher is an English singer from Sunderland in the North East of England.
She rose to prominence in 1990 with the release of her debut single, Love Come Down, on Boy George’s More Protein label. The track, benefiting from remixes by David Morales, found success in clubs on both sides of the Atlantic.
Her second single, Love is a Master of Disguise, was produced and mixed by Steve Anderson of Brothers In Rhythm. This was followed by Heaven Has To Wait in early 1992, then Change Your Mind. A remix of the latter by the Diss-Cuss team from the Hooj Choons label became an underground hit.
In 1995, Love Come Down was re-released in the United States with new mixes by Evolution, alongside David Morales’s original version. The track was later reissued in the UK on the Cleveland City label, with additional mixes by Cow & Gate and T-Empo.
Her biggest club and chart success came in late 1995 with the house and hardbag anthem You Can Have It All. The maxi-single offered two distinct versions: the ‘Rhyme Time’ mix and a Germanic trance variation by Ramp.
Following the success of Love Come Down 95 and You Can Have It All, her debut album, Woman Can Have It, was released in the UK and US in 1996. Produced by Boy George, Amos Pizzey, and Evolution, it included new versions of older singles like Heaven Has To Wait and Change Your Mind, as well as new tracks.
In July 1996, the track Heartbreak by 3119 featuring Eve Gallagher was playlisted by BBC Radio 1.
In 2002, she co-wrote and performed the dance hit Take It or Leave It for DJ Antoine.
In 2007, she was invited to sing the ballad Think Twice on Ken Hensley’s autobiographical album Blood On The Highway about his life in Uriah Heep. A video recording of the live performance of this album in Hamburg is available on DVD.
A polyglot and multifaceted artist, she also formed a new band in Germany, Eve Gallagher and Missing Link, with which she planned to record an album.
