DJ Toxic
Biography
DJ Toxic, real name Philipp Braccini, is a Swiss DJ and producer active in the trance and EDM scenes. He is also known simply as DJ Toxic, to be distinguished from the British hard trance artist of the same name.
Immersed in a musical environment from a young age, he learned guitar and gave his first concerts at age 12 with a grunge band. In 1996, he began mixing records. He quickly composed his first tracks and was spotted by the label Free Power Records.
His career truly took off in 2003 with the hit Secret Melody, which reached number one on the Swiss Dance Charts. This success was followed by the singles Sunlight and It's killing me, which also climbed to the top of the charts. With his first album Anastasia, he distinguished himself as one of the first DJs to release a trance album composed exclusively of original songs.
Success was immediate and his growing notoriety allowed him to perform at major European events such as Nature One, Energy, Evolution, Goliath, Street Parade, and Mainstation. His videos were played on loop and he appeared on renowned Swiss radio and television shows. He is also known for performing an acoustic version of one of his tracks during his sets.
In 2004, he was nominated for the VIVA-Komet in the Best National Newcomer category and won the Partyzoom Swiss Dance Music Award for best national record. He then released the albums Echoes Of Nature in 2004 and Home in 2005, while his tracks featured on numerous compilations. He also hosted the radio show Free Power FM on Kanal K.
After this intense period, DJ Toxic took a break to study sound engineering at SAE Zurich, where he graduated successfully. In parallel, he built a new studio in Dietikon (Zurich), where he produced various artists and explored different musical genres, accumulating valuable experience. He produced bands and artists and created remixes for the rock group Jerx (Universal).
In 2009, he founded his company, Toxic Art. After four years, he made his return to the music scene with new compositions. He is a resident at Musikpark A1 in Dietikon and Musikpark A2 in Basel, where his sets can be heard regularly.
