DJ Samuel Kimkò

DJ Samuel Kimkò is the stage name of Italian DJ and producer Samuele Cacelli, originally from San Vincenzo (Livorno).

Among his productions is Zumbera, a track that gained strong online visibility and performed well on iTunes.

He also introduced Play and discussed his collaboration with Geo Da Silva. According to him, they have known each other for a long time and their partnership fits perfectly: Geo Da Silva wanted music built around his vocal melodies, while DJ Samuel Kimkò needed strong male vocals for his beats.

With humour, he describes himself as a “zarro” DJ and says he is very close to the dance latino scene. In his songs, bootlegs and live nights, he delivers sets based on current hits, reworked in a “zarro” way aimed at the dancefloor and having fun.

He explains that he listens to many different styles to pick up ideas and then test them in his own tracks. He sums up his approach with a slogan: “chi balla, balla. Chi non balla, ascolta!”. His goal is to give people a great night full of energy and light-heartedness, and he hopes to return soon to clubs and public squares, beyond today’s music consumption focused on social media and streaming.

As for current work, he says he is developing several upcoming singles, some made together with other artists. He also mentions bringing back an album project that had been on hold for a few years and is now in progress again under the name Lento Contento, with the intention of “revolutionising” styles and genres.
