Deborah

Deborah, whose real name is Elena Ferretti, is also known by the stage names Sophie and Rose. Born in 1960, she is an Italian singer working in the Eurobeat and Italo disco genres.

Throughout her career, she has recorded for many labels under various aliases. Her music was produced by renowned Italian producers such as Giacomo Maiolini, Mauro Farina, Sergio Dall’Ora, and Giancarlo Pasquini.

She often collaborated with Clara Moroni, who wrote many of her compositions. Moroni also provided most of the choruses and background vocals for Ferretti’s songs at Time Records. Together, they formed the duo Gipsy & Queen.

Much of her work in the 1990s appeared on popular compilations such as Super Eurobeat, Maharaja Night, and Eurobeat Flash. Among her best-known tracks is My World, performed under the pseudonym Sophie.

In 2011, she recorded and released an Italian folk song titled “Io Libera”. In November 2020, she took part in *The Voice Senior Italy*, where she turned all the judges’ chairs during the blind auditions. Assigned to Gigi D’Alessio’s team, she won the semi-final and finished second in the grand final after the public vote. The following year, in 2021, she participated in the Sanremo Festival.
