Biography

The producer Dcup, real name Duncan MacLennan, is based in Melbourne.

He was the last signing to Ajax’s label Sweat It Out, becoming the seventh artist to join this cutting-edge collective, alongside names such as Gameboy/Gamegirl, Act Yo Age, KillaQueenz, Yolanda Be Cool, and Pablo Calamari.

His signing came shortly after the reception of his EP, praised for its pioneering role in the nu-disco sound.

His June 2009 EP, titled Style, was picked up by DJs worldwide, notably Italian talent Phonat, who liked it so much he created a remix for a dedicated EP.

Other remixes from his labelmates were also expected at the time.

His music, energetic disco funk, combines keyboards, old drum machines, and samples from 80s records, all with his personal touch.

His productions and remixes quickly gained traction on the Australian national scene as well as internationally, notably in the UK, Europe, and Asia.

The artist is also known by several spelling variations of his name, such as D Cup, D-Cup, D’Cup, or Doup.

His main alias is Duncan Maclennan.
