He trained at the École nationale de théâtre et de chant and then at the Institut des beaux-arts de Tétouan, where he specialized in classical and Western singing while studying music theory.

His musical career began early: he won first prize at the Festival de musique arabe in 2000. He later founded the group La Paloma, which blends Arab, Moroccan and flamenco music and performed successfully at various national and international festivals.
His early popular tracks include Ya Lmima, La Paloma and Sinine, the latter in collaboration with the Spanish group Librejano.

His international breakthrough came in 2013 through his collaboration with producer Redone. The track Habibi I Love You, featuring rapper Pitbull, became a major summer hit, topping charts in several Middle Eastern and European countries.
The song, with Dance and Arabic influences, spawned several multilingual versions: a French version with Kenza Farah, a Spanish version with Sophia Del Carmen, a Dutch version with Do van Hulst and a Romanian version with the group Mandinga. It has been performed live at festival closing ceremonies such as Festival Mawazine in Rabat and La Fête de la Musique in Marseille.

Chawki is signed to the 2101 Records label, founded by Redone.
