Burak Yeter

Burak Yeter is a Turkish-Dutch DJ and producer born on 5 May 1982 in Trabzon and based in Amsterdam.

His father, a musician, introduced him to music at an early age; he had his first experiences at small private parties in 1996. He began producing tracks in Break, Beat-Drum’n’Bass and RnB styles before focusing on DJing. In 1999 he founded the group Tatbikat to strengthen his musical foundations.

In 2000 he created his own label, T Records; at the same time, with Tatbikat he opened a studio of the same name and launched the events company T Production. He then focused on his personal productions: nearly 100 House-oriented tracks and more than 400 instrumentals in Afro Soul, RnB, Drum’n’Bass and Hip-Hop. He provided backing tracks to many groups and MCs, recorded vocals, prepared advertising jingles and produced remixes for well-known artists in Turkey.

On stage he emphasizes a strong visual aspect and is interested in turntablism; he formed the BURAK YETER LIVE SET, a group including two percussionists, a clarinetist and a fire dancer, with whom he performs live across many regions of Turkey to enhance the visual dimension.

His career turned in 2004 when he won first place in the MTV&Burn DJ contest in Turkey, judged by the renowned Masters at Work. This victory allowed him to share the booth with Derrick May and Darren Emerson in Malta as Turkey’s representative. The same year he finished second in the ‘2004 Miller Master DJ Contest’ in Turkey and reached the top three in an international competition organized by MTV Shakedown at the Club di Roma in Italy.

His work Ocean Wave appears on the compilation ‘The Future Sound Of Istanbul 3’. He also contributed to the mix album by Darkman, gathering major Turkish producers and DJs, released by EMI.

Among his projects he produced “Mediterranean Fleet 1-2”, regarded as the first underground work bearing the Mediterranean name.
